Castle Cake

This last nine weeks, the first graders have been doing a fairy tale unit. It's always one of my favorites to do. To finish it off, we always have a big fairy tale party so this year I got daring and made a castle cake. Thanks to Leanne who let me purchase some 3 Tiers frosting - the best - and my mom for letting me use her cake decorating stuff. I found the ideas for it online. All I have to say about the experience is thank God there are people we can pay to do this who enjoy it!

Future Rock Star

Here is Jaxon as a Future Rock Star for the Satanta Day Parade. Blake's mullet has really come in handy. Jax liked it so much that he left it on for quite awhile. No one knew who he was though.

Carnival!

Friday and Saturday night of Satanta Day weekend there was a carnival. Jaxon was soooooo excited! Here he is enjoying it. He had a blast riding with all of his friends!

Night Before Satanta Day

The Friday night before Satanta Day (which was May 8) we had some friends over to decorate their bikes for the parade. This is the first year Jaxon rode his bike in it so he was really excited. The theme this year was History in the Making. You can see in the pictures what Jaxon chose to be in the future.

Blake's Birthday Part 2

Saturday was fun-filled also on Blake's birthday weekend. We ate at the Good Egg in the morning. My mom and I went to get medi/pedi's and the guys went to get some haircuts and swim at the hotel. For lunch, we ate at one of Blake's favorite places - Red Robin. My family left after we ate so we went back to the hotel for a nap then went to All Star Adventures. Jaxon had a blast there! They had rides, miniatures golf,go-karts, batting cages, and an arcade inside. After that we were surprised when our friend Leanne said she was in town so we met her to eat at Il Vicino which is a pizza place on Bradley Fair - yum!

Blake's Birthday Weekend

Blake's birthday was April 30 so we decided to take that Friday off and head for Wichita. First we met with Blake's dad in Pratt to eat at McDonald's (Jaxon's favorite). Once we got checked in the first thing Jaxon wanted to do was swim! We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn by Bradley Fair. It was such a nice place and great location and the price was good too. We stayed Friday and Saturday night. My parents and brother came Friday night to stay. It was soooo relaxing and fun that it felt like summer. It was kind of hard to come back to school but it was a nice little break before the end. We might have to make it an annual thing!
