Whip It
Because we've been listening to my '80s playlist to hear "Dancing with Myself", Jaxon has also gotten into the song "Whip It". Enjoy!
Dancing With Myself
Jaxon is into the song "Dancing with Myself" by Billy Idol. He knows it from watching Mommy and Daddy play Guitar Hero. I forgot halfway through that it would be sideways so it does change.

Boys + Dirt = Free Babysitter
Over spring break, we went to my parents' farm for a few days to pick up their old deck wood so we could make our own deck. They are building an addition in that spot and when we got there they had just dug out and were working on the foundation which meant ... dirt mounds! Without any prompting, the second Jaxon saw those he wanted to play on them.
It amazes me how boys are just boys and you don't teach them to be rough and want to make things crash into each other - they just do it. I remember when my parents built their house and they dug up the basement. There were HUGE dirt mounds that my brother would play on for HOURS! I maybe played on it for a little bit like look I can climb up here (a hill in Kansas) but then I was like I'm out, I've got better things to do. My brother even had a slumber party with a bunch of boys and their main activity was playing on the dirt mounds. They were so excited and I was like so that's all they're going to do? Play in the dirt? And they did! The whole time! Anyway, it's just very interesting for me to try to figure out boys and how they think now that I have one to watch grow up since birth.
Jaxon would have played out there all day if we would have let him but we wanted to be out there with him because in the foundation they had put in some cement and had these poles (I don't know the term) sticking up everywhere so we wanted to make sure he stayed on the right side. Yes, I know, I grew up on the farm but now that I'm a mom I see things a lot differently but I try to not be too over-protective.
Watching them pour cement

Nice Weather Teaser
Last weekend was the beginning of spring break and the weather was so nice that we got Brent to fix Jaxon's bike tire so he could ride it. Thank goodness we enjoyed it while we could since the last couple of days have been cold with light snow!
Here is Jaxon enjoying his bike. He got it for his birthday this summer and rode it a bit but he would get tired of it quickly. This time he rode for quite a bit which we were impressed with. Blake and I might have to get our own bikes soon to keep up with him.
Getting ready to go:
Emilia even played with us at the park. She's getting so big!

When I was...
Yes I know I've been slacking. I am working hard over spring break to remember to take a lot of pictures so when I'm back home I'll have something to post so stay tuned. I actually do have some pictures that I just didn't upload before we left but oh well.
I thought I'd take this time to post about the new Jaxonism: When I was...
Jaxon is always telling us or asking us about stuff that he did when he was a baby, or 1, or 2, or 3.
Here's a few examples:
"Mom did I like broccoli when I was 3?"
"I haven't seen that movie since I've been 4."
"I only liked Handy Manny when I was 3."
Those are just a few. It's really cute because he has no concept of time like that but it's fun to watch him try to figure it out and reference times of his life. He's also trying to figure time out with Blake and I like, "Did you like this when you were a baby?" To him we are how old we are now or we were babies.
Sad to tell him that, "Sorry honey, I'm not positive how old you were but that's why I'm keeping a blog so we can look it up."

It's Diego! (sort of)
Jaxon was sick last week and had to spend 5 days in the house with no friends so he got a bit restless. He would start to feel better then feel crummy again. He found his old Diego Halloween costume from when he was 2 and decided to try it on. It's amazing to see how much he grew! I drew the line at putting on the monkey costume from when he was 1 though.
2 year old Diego from Halloween 2007:
4 1/2 year old Diego:
Couldn't resist putting in pictures of Jaxon in his Curious George costume from 2006 when he was 1:

Family Fun Circus
A few weeks ago there was a Family Fun Circus that was in Sublette so Jaxon and I went with our friend's the Goods. Jaxon had never been to the circus so I think this was a good starting point because it was so small so anything bigger after will seem even better.
I was really proud of him though. They kept trying to get us to buy everything and made it very enticing to the kids but I told him that he could pick out one thing (since I'd spend $3 on popcorn, $3 on cotton candy, $2 on a CAN of pop, and even though he got in "free" I had to pay $12 bucks to get in). He found a blow up Spongebob toy he wanted and even though he wanted other stuff he stuck with wanting the Spongebob and he didn't cry other stuff.
We also got a picture with Spongebob and Patrick but we put all the kids in it since it was $6 and we'll just make copies - sshhh!
Jaxon's favorite part was these brother who came out and did a little physical comedy skit kind of like the Three Stooges - just like his daddy!
The one ring circus at the Fair Building:
