Planning

Jaxon has been planning his Halloween costume for next year even before we had finished this year's Halloween. He did have the next 5 years planned out with different super heroes. Then we started talking about his favorite show Phineas and Ferb and he could be Perry the Platypus which he thought was great and even had characters for mommy and daddy picked out. Now all of a sudden he wants to be Santa Claus for Halloween! He is so excited about it. He wants me to buy it for him now. I don't know where this came from - he wouldn't even get close to Santa Claus over Christmas because he was scared of him. He even wants me to make a Santa Claus cake for his birthday this year. He has it all planned out that Jaxon, Granny and mommy will make the cake together.
He is such a crack-up! I wanted to blog this before I forgot and who knows what he'll actually end up with at Halloween - stay tuned!

Jaxonism:
I stayed home with Jaxon today because he was sick. I, of course, was in my sweats most of the day since it was just us. I was putting my hair up in a half-pony when Jaxon said, "No mommy! Leave it down! It's not adorable when you put it up!"

Guitar Hero

Blake and I got Guitar Hero for each other as our Valentine's Day gift (*cough* excuse to get new Wii game *cough*). Anyway, we've all enjoyed it. It is so addicting and hard to stop playing. I'd hate to see my mom on it - lol!
Here is Jaxon enjoying it. He likes to do the freestyle with is own Mii person. I was trying to get his "rock and roll facial expressions" but he was moving too fast.

Jaxonism:
Jaxon was telling us how he is going to get one red car and one yellow car when he grows up. Then he said, "But before I go get a red car and yellow car I have to check with the money!"

Happy Valentine's Day

We all had a great Valentine's Day. It was more than just a day for us though. Here's a snapshot.
Wednesday: Jaxon's preschool party - he was soooo excited! He even had to give himself a Valentine at school.
Thursday: Blake and I had our parties with our students.
Friday: Jaxon had his party at daycare. Then Blake and I had an actual date. We went down to Liberal to see Valentine's Day - Blake even enjoyed the movie. Then out for Italian food!
Saturday: Mommy had a beauty day getting her hair done. (I know it doesn't have anything to really do with Valentine's Day but it always feels good to get your hair cut and colored. Also to go by yourself and do what you like to do. So that was my little treat.)
Sunday: Real Valentine's Day - we gave our presents to each other.

All I really needed to get - a balloon! He loved that the most!

Super Bowl

Yes I am behind on this. I already told you how I spent my birthday weekend but I have some pics from my actual birthday which was the Super Bowl so we had friends over. Jaxon picked out the Transformers birthday hats that he was dying to open all weekend. He kept making sure everyone had them on.

Attitude!

Jaxonism:
Blake took Jaxon took the park. Jaxon burped and said it was the clouds. Blake said you still need to say excuse me. Jaxon said, "Excuse you clouds!"

In the car home from the park, Jaxon said I'm going to be in a rock band when I get bigger and play the drums. He thought a beat then said, "Daddy you can be in the band and play guitar because you've got attitude!"

(While I am reading this post to Blake to check that it is correct Jaxon says, "Mommy you've got attitude too!)

My Birthday

I already told you what my best present on my birthday was now I'll tell you how the rest of the weekend went. My parents came out on Friday. We went to Garden City on Saturday and ate at Napoli's which is an Italian restuarant - my fav!
First time Jaxon wrote MOM on the card:

My present from Jaxon - Connect Four. I actually loved this game when I was little but never had one. He does pretty good playing it.

I got the last season of Friends I needed to complete my collection from Blake:

I got another Giada cookbook from my parents. Italian - yum! (Sorry Mom but I didn't like the picture.)

Then we did a little shopping. Jaxon's John Deere boots were getting pretty snug so my parents bought him some new boots which are yellow. He was so excited! They had some that had yellow on the bottom and black on the top which I thought he would pick but he went for the brown on bottom and yellow on top. So of course he has to tuck his jeans into his pants so that everyone can see the yellow. He also got a black cowboy hat. So you know what his wardrobe has been lately.

Here's the cowboy: (or naked cowboy)

Ready for church:

Sunday was the Super Bowl so we had some friends over to watch the game. Leanne made me a cake (3 Tiers - the best)! So it was a great birthday weekend and this week we only have 4 days with students and we have President's Day off so that's even better.

Best Birthday Present

Today is my birthday so of course my best present would come from Jaxon. He sang Happy Birthday to me all day long and kept giving me hugs and kisses. Here are 2 versions of him singing Happy Birthday. One of them is how we sing it in church with the "Happy Birthday, God Bless You" then I tried to get him to sing to mommy and he got it a little mixed up. I loved it either way!

Sorry but I don't know how to turn it. The outfit is another blog notice him showing off the boots in the second one.

That's How God Made Me!

One night, Jaxon was doing his usual thing of asking a million questions - who, what, when, where, why, who, ...
So Blake asked him why he asked so many questions.
Jaxon replied, "Because that's how God made me."

Movie Watching

Photobucket

This is how Jaxon has been watching movies lately. We got him a portable DVD player for Christmas so he loves his own little T.V. We love that we don't have to watch the same movie a million times even though we really got it for long trips in the car. He also likes to watch it in his room at times like he has a T.V. in his room. He did tell me a long time ago that he needs one up on the wall like Mommy and Daddy have in their bedroom though. Keep dreamin kid!

Snow Day

Photobucket

Friday, January 29 (Kansas Day) we finally had our first snow day! We were so excited! Especially since our heater decided to quit working - again. Fortunately we have service guard through Black Hills Energy. They brought us some space heaters and finally rigged it up to work good enough until the part gets in. (The last one took 3 weeks.)
Jaxon was so excited. He asked us if we could get the Christmas tree out. As far as he's concerned when it snows it is Christmas.
Brent came by on the 4-wheeler in the morning with Alex, Ava, and Ella on a car hood on the back. They had so much fun they even went out again on Saturday. Blake and I went for a ride also. (Mommy needs some snow pants - frozen butt!) Jaxon had a blast in the snow but when he came in his hands and feet were really red so we got him in a warm bath. He was crying because it hurt saying, "Mommy, I was out tooooo loooonngg!"

It was a fairly dry snow so yesterday (Sunday) Blake was able to take Jaxon out and make a snowman when it was wetter and melting. Yesterday they made a Jaxon snowman with a mohawk and today it was a daddy snowman (no picture of him sorry).

It was a great mini-break from school. Mommy really starting missing her nap she'd gotten used to around 2:30 though. Hopefully the restful weekend will help us get through this week with 100's day at school, concessions, bell choir, and quiz bowl. Here's hoping for another snow day! :)
