At the Park

Here are some pics of Jaxon at the park wearing his Chiefs outfit. We're still cheering for them even if they're not doing that well this year. He is so cute when he gets on his football stuff. He has watched Blake at practice with his junior high football boy so Jaxon will get down on one knee and put one hand on Blake's. Then Blake will ask him if he's ready to play and stuff like that and Jaxon says, "Yes, sir!".

Church's Hayride and Weiner Roast

Here are some pics from 2 Sundays ago when our Church had a hayride and weiner roast. Blake took Jaxon because I had forgotten and told others to play volleyball at the same time. They had a great time though.

Jaxon and Emilia

This had to be a separate post. Jaxon is in love with our friend's baby girl, Emilia. They both go to the same daycare and Jaxon thinks all baby girls' names are Emilia. He is always kissing on her when he sees her and wants to hold her. He prays every night, "God please let me have a baby sister that I can keep at my house."
Here are some greats pics of them from Alex and Ava's birthday.

Friends' Birthday

Over Labor Day weekend Jaxon's friends, Alex and Ava Howie (sisters) celebrated their 10 and 8 birthdays. We had Leanne's awesome spaghetti and fixings. The kids had a great time and of course the best part - 3 Tiers Birthday Cake!

Jaxon with his buddy Nathaniel. Poor Nathaniel - he's in 8th grade and Jaxon will just cling to him when he sees him. At the high school football game, Nathaniel was playing in the pep band and Jaxon had to sit by him. Nathaniel was a good sport in front of all his "cool" friends.

Recipe

Yes I am still here. I have just been really swamped with school and other activities and meetings. I know everyone else is just as busy but I'm sticking with my story. (Also, we have DVR now so when I have free time I usually veg in front of the TV and watch what I've recorded.)
I have a lot of stuff backed up so my stuff may be old but better late than never.

Here is a recipe that I've been asked about a lot and I never quite get it to people so I'll put it here for everyone to copy as they wish.

This came from my Granny to use when we had get togethers. It makes a ton. I don't have a 15" pan so I use my 13" and it barely fits so it can be done but it's better in the bigger pan.

Baked Spaghetti
1 (12 oz) pkg. spaghetti noodles
1 (30 oz) jar spaghetti sauce
1 (11 oz) jar picante sauce
1 small can sliced mushrooms
1 small can sliced ripe olives
1 (3 oz) pkg. pepperoni slices
2 lbs. ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 (12 oz) pkg. shredded mozarella cheese

Cook pasta according to directions. Brown beef, pepper, and onion; drain well. Mix all ingredients except cheese. Pour in 10 1/2 x 15 inch pan and top with cheese. Bake for 30 minutes at 350. Also freezes well before baking.

Just Pics

Here are some pictures with Jaxon and his friend Addison. One of his favorite things to do is be with his friends. He loves having them over or going to their houses. No separation anxiety here! When I pick him up from daycare he always asks who is coming over or whose house is going to.

Writing Fool!

I was at Dollar Tree the other day and picked up a job chart that I thought we could use with Jaxon to help him be motivated to do some jobs that he likes to do and jobs he doesn't like around the house. It has been working really well so far. He loves to mark off when he does a job. It also helps with the misbehavior so he doesn't get a frowny face. (I know - I'm such a teacher.)
Anyway, I didn't know but on the backside was another chart so I let Jaxon have that one to do with what he wanted. He was sitting at the bar playing with it and I suggested writing his name. Then I wasn't really paying any attention until I looked up and saw he had done this:

He wrote his name over and over. He did a pretty good job. I was shocked that he could write in those small boxes. If you notice his name started turning into Jaxno and Jaoxn after awhile but I was still impressed. I hope he continues liking school! At least, I have the blog to prove that he did enjoy it at one point.

Promotion Sunday

Not this Sunday but the one before was our Church's Promotion Sunday. To give the Sunday school teachers a break for the summer they combine all the classes into one. To get back going for the year, we have a Promotion Sunday when kids move up classes (get promoted) depending on their age. To kick it off they have a breakfast then games for the kids outside. During the church service, the teachers announce who got "promoted" to the next class. Jaxon got promoted but I didn't get a good pic of him getting his certificate.

Labor Day Weekend Bowling

We decided to stay home this 3 day weekend since we've been gone a lot this summer. It's been nice to relax at home before the school week starts again. On Saturday we drove to Dodge to meet my parents and grandparents for some pizza and bowling. Jaxon loves bowling and was really excited. Mommy had fun the first game when she beat everyone but not so much fun the next game - ha ha! We even found a yellow bowling ball for Jaxon but it was too heavy so we convinced him to go with the "yellow-green" ball because it was lighter.

Jaxon with Granny. Granny even brought her own bowling ball and shoes. She used to play in a bowling league in Kinsley when I was little and I remember going there with her after preschool.
