Cold Weather Fun!

This post is kind of a hodge podge of stuff we've done when the weather has been too cold to go outside which has been a lot lately.

When the weather is cold outside, I think of hot chocolate and s'mores. I know we traditionally think of s'mores around a campfire and I do too but when it's cold outside they just seem perfect. I just make them in the microwave and they turn out great. Here's Jaxon enjoying some.

When we got out our Halloween tub to decorate, there were some old Halloween costumes including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle costumes that Blake and I wore in college so Jaxon had to try them out. (Blake and I wore shirts when we wore them though.)

Here he is as a pirate with no clothes - aren't all pirates like that?

This was a Halloween decoration Linda Nelson gave us before she left that Jaxon wore around his neck and pretended to be a bat. Yes those stupid little strings were all over the house - Thanks Linda!

Fireman Jax

October has National Fire Safety week so the preschool had the Satanta fireman come a few weeks ago to talk about fire safety and show them the fire truck. They each got a fireman hat. Jaxon wore his and told us all about "Stop, Drop, and Roll" and 911.

Goodbye Batman, Hello Superman

So if you've noticed in my posts that Jaxon wears his last year's Halloween costume Batman quite frequently. Last week we got his new costume for this year - Superman! Yes, we are in a superhero phase and I don't see it ending soon. He's already got 5 more picked out but we told him only one a year so we'll see if he sticks with his plan. He has already been putting it on the second he gets home and wearing it at night. We won't let him wear it out yet until after Halloween so it will stay together at least.

Jaxonism:
"Grandma, the box guy brought my Superman!" - "box guy" being the UPS man.
"Mommy, why does Superman wear his underwear on the outside?" (Followed by mommy praying that he does not try to start wearing his underwear on the outside.)
"Daddy, what happens when superheroes fart?"

Pumpkins!

Last week when the weather was crummy, I had to come up with some inside activities because Jaxon was bouncing off the wall. I picked up some pumpkins at the grocery store so Jaxon could paint them. He loves to paint so it kept him busy for a bit. Here are some pics of him with his pumpkins.

"The Boys"

Here are "the boys". Jaxon's new caterpillar pets. He got them a few weeks ago at my parents' house. Blake and I had been discussing if we should get Jaxon a pet and were thinking a fish or something. I asked him and he said he wanted a caterpillar so he found some. He came up with calling them "the boys". Not sure where that came from? Hopefully we'll have some butterflies soon to show.

Babysitting Emilia

Last week we got to babysit Emilia. We had so much fun with her. Jaxon wanted to show her all his toys but then of course would take it away when she went for them saying that it wasn't for a baby. She has just been taking a few steps at the time and was testing it out at our place making me nervous she would fall and I'd send her back with a big bump but she did great!

Jaxon is really trying to keep Emilia from the edge not put her in a choke hold.

Bathtub Fun!

Here is Jaxon taking a bath in our big bathtub. It has jets which really make the bubbles bigger! He is so weird - Right now when he is done with every bath he wants us to throw 5 cups (our compromise) of cold tap water on him. Don't ask me why!

Twister

Here is Jaxon playing Twister at my parent's house. He made all of us play at some point with him. It was pretty interesting seeing Grandma and Grandpa try to play. He did a good job knowing the colors but wasn't sure about the left and right yet.
