Kindergarten Round-Up

Last week was Jaxon's Kindergarten round-up. I can't believe that he's already going to be in Kindergarten.
We all met in the cafeteria where they explained a few things then the Kindergarten teachers took the kids to the rooms and the parents stayed to get more info and fill out papers. Jaxon was really excited when we picked him up and wanted to stay so that's a good sign.

Monster Cookies

Here is the recipe I make for Monster Cookies. They're a favorite from my childhood and then making them with my Granny and Blake as I got older. They're always a hit!

Monster Cookies
6 eggs
2 c. white sugar
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter
2 t. vanilla
2 1/2 c. peanut butter (JIF is the only kind I use!)
9 c. quick oatmeal
4 t. soda
1 c. chocolate chips
1 c. M&M's

Mix eggs, brown and white sugar, and butter. Cream or beat until light. Add peanut butter and vanilla. Mix with dry ingredients. Can dip with ice cream scoop to make large cookies. Bake 350 for 10 - 12 minutes. Easily doubled for big batch.

Bubble Mania

This is what Jaxon was doing while the guys were working on the deck - playing with his bubble machine he got from the Easter Bunny. (My job was to keep him out of their hair.)

New Deck

So last year we put out a patio slab but where we go out to the backyard there is a big drop so finally we are working on putting up some stairs. It's kind of a small deck so I will refer to it as either stairs or deck. Anyway, Easter weekend my dad and brother came back with us on Sunday to help put it up. They got quite a bit done. We've got a great start and now Blake just has to put up the stairs. Hopefully we'll find time before the summer. We also got a new table and chairs for outside and we love going out to use it. It will be nice to not have to make a big drop soon.

Easter Bunny Visits 2010

Sunday morning the Easter bunny came and brought some good stuff. He loved the bubble machine but his favorite was a notepad and yellow stapler.

Easter 2010

We had our Easter dinner Saturday at my parent's house. Blake's parents came down from Pratt so we were all together. It was so nice the day before but Saturday was chillier and a lot colder but we still had a few Easter egg hunts.
