Jaxon played basketball on a 3rd-4th grade traveling team in Greensburg where Blake works. Jaxon didn't really know much about basketball when we started so he had a lot to learn. He improved so much. Now when he is at Grandma's all he wants to do is shoot baskets. I love that!
Since I'm so far behind, I'm going to combine the photos into one post.
His first practice.
His first tournament was in Pratt before Christmas. Jaxon was still unsure of himself at this point but he kept trying. Even though he is a 3rd grader he was one of the bigger kids on the team so he played post so I had lots of advice for him!
Jemma got lots of time to learn what it means to be the younger sibling and sit through games.
As you can see it meant more about eating and playing on the iPad to her.
Warming up
Talking on the phone too. (Pretend)
I'll do my best but it was a blur of practices and games after that.
St. John tournament.
Enjoying Jemma's basketball watching style. We brought lots of toys to keep her busy and it was everywhere!
Snack time!
Riding with baby to the game the next day.
Then back in Pratt a different weekend.
Jemma found a friend with Barbies.
He improved so much! I was so proud of him not only because he got better but because he was coachable and listened well. He put in the time and wanted to go to the gym whenever he could!
Jaxonisms:
During one of the games I was yelling at Jaxon to hustle and he turned out to look at me. Totally a deja vu moment from my basketball days and my dad yelling at me!
Talking about our 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Brown, Jaxon said, "She doesn't smile, only when it is funny."
During scouts one of the things we had to do was take finger prints. The boys were talking about cops and stuff and Jaxon said, "I watch Cops at the pub." He was talking about the reality show Cops.
