On February 15, we took the Wolf Scouts bowling in Larned so they could get their bowling belt loops. We left around 5:30 and went to eat at Subway first.
Here are the scouts (L to R) Michael, Jaxon, and Gustavo.
Everyone's families went also and we had the bowling alley all to ourselves until the end. Michael and Gustavo had never been bowling and part of the requirements was learning the rules so we went over those first then got started. The adults and other family members played also.
Michael's sister Yasmin. She's a year older than Jemma.

Michael's mom, Martha, helping Yasmin. Martha is a year younger than me and we were in school together.
This was an exhausting trip for Blake and I because it was a Friday after school and Jemma was being a handful. She wanted to bowl the whole time! I didn't plan on her bowling at all so we already had the boys on a lane and the adults on another. So Blake and I would try to take turns letting her bowl on our turns. (Our scores were horrible! I actually wasn't doing real great on my own so it was a good excuse.) But she was not happy unless she was bowling the whole time! I tried to get some snacks and divert her attention but she wasn't having it. Finally I took her over to where they had arcade games and let her "play" on those and Blake bowled for me. It helped a little but she was not forgetting about that bowling. I don't think she'll be going bowling again until she's 5!

It was hard to keep the boys back while people were bowling. They were so excited.
Had to get snacks.

I was talking to the owners when I was trying to keep Jemma distracted and I told them we were bowling for a belt loop for Scouts so they said they'd take them to the back and let them see how it all worked if the boys could keep their hands in and not touch so they wouldn't get hurt. So Blake took them back and I watched Jemma. He said it was really neat. It was built in the 50's and still works.

This is where the pins get reset.
This is where the ball goes then comes back to you.
