Great Bend Waterpark

Before harvest started we took the kids to Great Bend to check out their water park. Unfortunately that particular day wasn't as hot as they had been. In fact it sprinkled on us most of the time but the water wasn't as bad as we thought it would be. Plus I've learned that bad days for the pool are not as packed.

We got in the regular pool too.


We got Jemma that little floatie that day. It's called a puddle jumper. We debated whether to get her that or a life jacket which is what Jaxon had when he was a little older than what she is now. I'd never seen a puddle jumper but it wasn't as big and sometimes life jackets can ride up. Since they were the same price we decided to take a chance. She loved it! I was more nervous than she was about letting go. It does a great job of holding her up and she can float on her front or back. She was squealing because she loved it so much. The only problem was she was jumping around and screaming that some water got in her mouth but it didn't stop her. She's better at not swallowing water now.











She was so cute sprawled out and floating.














It was a lot of fun for a good price. We did leave just in time before a storm hit.

DP Game

Here are pics from Jaxon's first DP game.

I thought it would be a good idea to find something to keep Jemma busy because I knew she wouldn't be watching the game. So we found an old golf set that was Jaxon's. At first she was made and wanted to go out in the field with Bubbie and play baseball - she got the sports confused. Then she liked it when other kids came to play with her. Now we have to have it at every game or practice but she doesn't even play with it anymore but we have to get it out. She's always talking about going golfing now. I think since Blake and I are both in golf league this summer and lately when we have to leave her it is because we are going golfing so she wants to do it all the time.

The best part of the game we didn't get on film but Jaxon was playing 2nd and someone threw him the ball and he went to get it and the kid that was running went past 2nd so Jaxon ran him down to tag him before he got to 3rd. In other games it might have been better to throw it to 3rd but with this team that doesn't usually catch or throw good, chasing was probably a good idea. He caught him though!

DP Practice

DP practice started right after school was out. DP is different than when I was little because it is machine pitch instead of coach pitch. I don't know if I could even hit it off of the machine. Jaxon was super excited for it to start and not have to hit off the tee this year.

This night the kids had just gotten their shirts and were scrimmaging the Little League. We lost but it is good practice for them.

During the game, Jemma decided to go "shopping". So she would use the camera bag as her purse and say, "Bye, I'm going shopping." We asked what she was buying and it was shoes or food.
