On January 25, we got to see the Harlem Globetrotters in Wichita! Jaxon sold enough popcorn for Cub Scouts that we got 2 free tickets to see the Globetrotters. Another boy,Kolby, in our pack made it but his mom had to be gone that weekend so we took him and got his extra free ticket so it worked out perfect. We quickly left school on Friday to make it in time. We decided to stay the night since we would get out late and then the boys could swim the next morning. It worked out really well and was a lot of fun! I've never seen the Globetrotters so I was excited also.
Kolby's mom told them that they would usually pick people who made signs to come down on the court to do stuff with them. We found out later that they picked some random names of Boy Scouts to go out on the court beforehand but I didn't want to spoil their fun so we made a sign. Ours was the only one that was there.
Our 2 tickets for each were separate seats but we were able to give somebody the better of the 2 seats so we could sit together.
We were at Intrust Arena. It was a pain to get in because they didn't send the Boy Scout tickets to us, we had to stand in line to pick them up and there were a lot of Scouts there. Once we got our tickets then it was easy to get around and a really nice place.
A Scout Troop from Wichita did the flag.
The boys each got a basketball.
Jemma's favorite part - popcorn.
Afterwards
The game moved at a great pace without any boring downtime. I would definitely go again. It would be better without a 1 year old bouncing around and having 2 poopy diapers but oh well. My favorite part was when they did the play in rewind then in slow motion. The boys liked it when they took off one of the opposing team's uniform so he was left in his underwear.
Relaxing in the motel.
What would we do without technology?
Jemma with her buddy, Dolby (as she calls him). She wanted to play with him the whole time and he was getting a bit tired of it. In the car she took her shoes off and would not quit bugging him until he smelled her feet.
The next morning we got up to eat breakfast in the motel then the boys went swimming. I didn't take the camera down for that.
Ready to go!
