Happy 4th Birthday Jaxon!
The above pic is one of my favorites my mom took when he was first born.
My baby turns 4 today! Since we aren't having his family party until Sunday, I thought I'd post pics of when he was first born. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. As you can tell he is one spoiled boy with all the grandparents and great-grandparents who dote on him. He's very blessed and loved!
We are taking it easy today and finishing up harvest so he got to ride one last time. He made chocolate cupcakes with yellow (of course) frosting this morning with grandma and got out the pool this afternoon. It's like his birthday never ends because we already had a party with his friends from Satanta and we're telling him Happy Birthday today and then he's having his family party on Sunday. Definitely spoiled!
Happy Birthday Baby! Mommy and Daddy love you so much and we're so lucky to have you!

Ladybug Love
So I was looking through my pictures this past month and found some of Jaxon with a ladybug. He loves ladybugs this year (instead of being scared of them). We've seen quite a few in our yard and at the pool. We were playing outside with some friends over and they were finding ladybugs so Jaxon brought it over and wanted me to take a picture. I did my best but he kept moving around so I had to hold his hand steady. A little bit after that one of his friends, Kaylee, took it and drowned it so Jaxon came over bawling saying that it was his buddy. Fortunately there were many others around to be his buddy for a little bit until he got tired of it.
We are all exhausted from harvest but it is going pretty fast compared to previous years. We are on day 6 and will probably be done tomorrow if things go well (knock on wood - Yes farmers are superstitious!) We are getting ready for Jaxon's birthday which is June 30 on Tuesday but will celebrate on Sunday, July 5 which is my Papa's birthday. We also have a family reunion on the 4th so hopefully we'll get to make it back to Satanta real quick before all that to check on things but we'll take it day by day.

Slip n Slide
Since we are in the middle of harvest, my posts are going to be things we've done in the past month and not necessarily what is happening right now.
One of my favorite memories of the summer was playing on the slip n slide. My Granny got us one when I was in grade school and we used it every summer on through high school. Blake even used it. So we got Jaxon one this summer. The first time we go it out was the first of June at Granny's house so it was a little cold but he couldn't wait. He wasn't quite sure how to slide on his tummy so he would go on his knees. So I had to show him then he started getting it.

Jaxon and I rode the wheat truck with Blake today and Blake said that he needed to pick up a turtle for Jaxon sometime in the morning because he kept seeing them on the road. Jaxon said, "How about you pick me up a dog in a yellow cage instead!"

Bonfire!
All guys love fire! That is my conclusion after watching the guys in high school be pyromaniacs and burn the seats in the bus and still seeing Blake get excited around fire and blowing things up. My dad is that way too. So Jaxon definitely has that fascination but I've tried to drill it into him the dangers. My parents have a pit and old woods stumps around it that we use for bonfires. At the end of May, my mom had some scrapbooking friends visiting from Canada and Colorado so we had a bonfire their last day. I don't really like marshmallows but I love S'mores! My brother was home then too so you can see Blake and him enjoying the fire too.
Jaxon didn't like roasting the marshamallows but he got really good at taking them off with the graham crackers. The only problem was he kept setting them down in the dirt so we couldn't use them.

This is a picture of Jaxon with his tree at the farm. My parents found it as a new seedling growing when Jaxon was born so they moved it and now is his tree so we can see it grow with him.

Father's Day
We were hoping to be in the field cutting wheat on Father's Day but Mother Nature said no. So Blake and I went up to Hutchinson after church to pick up our sectional we bought since we were rained out. That night we had chocolate cake and homemade ice cream at Granny's house - yum!
Nice picture with Daddy
Typical picture - goofing off

My dad listening to his card:
Jaxon is such a dork. Everyone else had their ice cream and cake together but not Jaxon. He had to have them in separate bowls with separate spoons.
We kept warning him to slow down or he'd get a brain freeze but luckily he didn't get one.
Silly cousin Faith visiting from Kansas City for the week.. Jaxon has enjoyed torturing her while she is here by tackling her to the ground and kissing her. I mean while he is sitting on her head. The other night she was laughing so hard and Jaxon said, "So you think that's funny huh?" and jumped on her harder.
